How to Use an Old Trunk in the Garden

Trunks are for storing old quilts and linens right?

Let's have some fun and use it for something else in the garden.....

First,   let's give it some height by screwing some old rusty iron legs to the bottom........

Then,    I made a nest from an old hollowed out piece of a tree by filling it with moss...... Add two sweet birds and my nest is complete.

I propped a mirror up behind the nest and filled in the rest of the trunk with lots of plants and more moss........

I screwed a Potting Bench sign and two bird cages to the trunk  lid.......

Here's the other little bird cage.......

All finished!

Now I need to do something with that wicker sofa that's on the side of the trunk......

This piece of wicker is in pretty bad shape.....but I love the springs!

While I was working on my trunk,   H was busy hanging a new sign over the studio doors.    When I saw this Farmhouse sign at Home Goods the other day..... I  fell in love with it!

I have had a flower swag over the doors for several years and some birds had made a nest in it.....and.... also made a MESS on the door frame and in the swag.     H put on some rubber gloves and took it to the trash and cleaned  up the wood.

It's about time to add some red, white,  and blue to the garden......Memorial Day is just a couple of weeks away!
